Ceilidhs & Barn Dances
For Your School Social or Fundraiser
Ceilidhs (Wild Scottish Dancing!) and Barn Dances are one of the best ways to bring communities together and get everyone involved.
Whether it's as a School Fundraiser or just a Social Night they are brilliant fun, really lively and get everyone talking and laughing together...especially when you have a super-enthusiastic caller (dance teacher) to bring plenty of energy and make sure the room is buzzing.
These can be events just for the grown ups or they can be for the children too. Either way, they are always a success!

How does it work?
Playing background music while people are arriving sets the mood and brings a bit of atmosphere to the night. I can make sure this is in place for you adding to the anticipation of the fun to come.
A welcome can be given by the PTA or School Principal depending on who's hosting...or I am very happy to do this on your behalf.
2 x 1 hour sets of dancing works best with a break in the middle. It's a fairly tiring activity and it's best that everyone enjoys themselves rather than being totally exhausted...at least until the end of the night! 🙂
If there's food in the middle, then a break of up to an hour works well. This can be judged on the night with how quickly people are eating and if they're enjoying chatting etc. If there's no food, then 10-15 mins break is plenty of time.
Often schools will run a raffle which is drawn at the break. This is a great additional fundraising exercise.
The band takes around an hour to set up and sound check. For a ceilidh with backing tracks only, then the set up time can be as little as 30 mins. It's about the same amount of time to pack away.
I'm very happy to chat through what will work for your school, answer questions and give you guidance on how to run the night etc. So do please ask.
The Band Tuning Up

You can decide if you'd like PomPom The Magical Fox leading the dancing or if you'd prefer Louise as herself. Either way, it will be a party atmosphere and fabulous music.
Depending on your budget, you can choose the awesome impact of a full band for your event or go for recorded tracks which work surprisingly well and are very cost effective.
